Andrzej Dragan Photography

Andrzej Dragan is a Polish photographer, who's style is almost
Dickensian in the way he portrays the characters of the subjects in
front of his lens. Dramatic lighting and an armoury of post production
techniques lend his personal portraits an animation, most photographers
can only aspire to.

Sometimes...

if you don't blow your own trumpet then nobody else is going to do it for you.

I thought it was time that I unleashed you on some of my own work. Unfortunately, there has not been very much of it in the past while as I have been quite unwell. However, now I am getting back on my feet again I would like to showcase two of my latest shots.

Wheel from the side.

From the rear.

This magnificent structure is The Falkirk Wheel. I have always had a bit of an interest in these things as the Forth and Clyde Canal runs almost directly behind my home, but this superb piece of engineering is not only highly effient, both in terms of time and energy, but is s strangely elegant addition to the landscape.

If you would like to see any more of my work you can find it here.

Photoassist.co.uk

I don't know whether this is a resource which would be of use to anyone, but it seems like a pretty good starting point to me.

Photoassist.co.uk is the online community and database for assistant photographers, emerging phoyographers and students of photography. If you are an assistant, student, or just keen to get yourself some photography experience photoassist.co.uk encourages you to add your details to their database which makes you instantly visible in your area.

The Photographer's Assistant

"As assistants we must never schmooze our photographers' clients. Schmooze by my understanding means to lick someone's arse for your own personal gain (so eloquently put) and we must not do it!"

The Photographer's Assistant is a blog written by Elaine Maria about the trails and experiences of being a young assistant starting from scratch with a fashion photographer. The blog is just starting out so lets give what has the potential to be something that many of our readers will be able to benefit from a chance.

The Photographer's Assistant is an affiliate of the Open Eye Photography Blog.
